Getting Rid of Fish Vaginal Smells

by jamie on November 3, 2009

Whenever you find that there is an unusually foul smell coming from your vagina the first thing you are apt to do is go to the pharmacy and buy a feminine deodorant and/or deodorizing douche. Unfortunately, that is probably the very last thing you should do!

Most often those types of products simply make matters worse. It is unclear how it happens, but most often bacterial vaginosis is the culprit. It is known that when BV strikes there is a marked increase in bad bacteria in the vaginal tract and a significant decrease in good or friendly flora. Doctors believe it is due to an imbalance in the naturally acidic pH of the vaginal tract and those products just help to reduce the acidity even further.

The best way to get rid of fishy vaginal smells is to do it naturally.

Yogurt, garlic and apple cider vinegar are the best remedies on earth. Of course doctors can prescribe antibiotics to treat the condition, but drug therapy often results in other problems such as a yeast infection which can make the smell, itching and pain even worse. There are a number of online articles and eBooks which explain how to go about naturally treating bacterial vaginosis without the use of any commercial products.

Natural remedies have been used since the beginning of time for conditions such as this and have been found to be just as effective, and even more so in some cases, than their pharmaceutical counterparts. When treating a foul smelling vaginal discharge, natural is always safest whenever possible.
